Fever Blisters/Canker Sores

Fever blisters, also known commonly as cold sores, usually appear on or around the mouth and lips, causing soreness and redness in the affected area. Fever blisters can also cause a fever, sore throat, and swollen glands in the neck or other parts of the body. A canker sore appears a small, shallow ulcer inside the mouth, and can be caused by eating certain types of food, stress, ill-fitting braces or dentures or possible underlying health issues like immune deficiencies. Canker sores are not the same as cold sores, but are still often painful and can make eating or talking uncomfortable.
