Stanley Team Completes ACLS Training
On Friday, April 4th, the entire Stanley Dentistry team in Cary completed Advanced Cardiac Life Support training. The North Carolina Board of Dental Examiners only requires Basic Life Support training for doctors, but we want to go above and beyond to make sure we are trained to save a life if needed. We chose to train our entire team, not just the doctors to ensure that everyone at the office is equipped to save a life in the event of an emergency.
Training builds on the foundations of lifesaving BLS skills and emphasizes the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR. Our course highlighted how the team can work together to ensure proper care of all of our patients, how to delegate systems of care, and recognizing and intervening during cardiopulmonary arrest. Immediate post-cardiac arrest, acute dysrhythmia, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes (ACS) were also covered.
During the course, team members took advantage of learning stations to practice essential skills that simulated life-threatening scenarios. The hands on class format reinforced skills proficiency, while the
classroom-based work helped students to interact with the instructor and got all questions answered.
The doctors were on hand to learn as well. “I loved seeing our entire team interact and focus on the life-saving treatment we can provide for our patients. Our patients ensure not only their smiles to us, but also their lives. We want to keep them healthy in the chair, so they can enjoy life outside of our office,” said Dr. Bobbi.
As a patient of Stanley Dentistry, we want to make sure that you always receive the best care from each and every one of our staff members. That is why we take
extra measures to train our staff beyond the basic requirements so you are always in good hands!
