Stanley Team Visits the Ronald McDonald House
Last month, the Stanley Dentistry team visited the Ronald McDonald House in Durham, NC. The Ronald McDonald House is a charity that offers families with seriously-ill children a home away from home during their time in hospitals.
Located less than a mile from Duke Children’s Hospital, the Durham Ronald McDonald house welcomes up to 55 families at any given time. The Durham house provides a space close to the hospital for families to stay while their child is ill. It’s a warm bed and a comfort meal each night for families who are struggling to understand what their child is enduring.
Although a good night’s sleep and a warm meal make a world a difference, the true of the gift of the Ronald McDonald house is the comfort found in visiting with other families who are enduring similar struggles. The opportunity to share in the struggles of having a ill child can be shared by families to stay in the Ronald McDonald Durham House. Families are asked to contribute what they can, and Ronald McDonald never turns anyone away due to an inability to pay.
The Stanley team was happy to contribute in any capacity and to lend a helping hand in our own community. During our visit, we pitched in by making a home cooked meal for the all of the families. We are already looking forward to our next visit on August 20th!
