It may not seem like a big deal to you, but a few awards and five-star reviews can make a huge difference for an office like ours.
At Stanley Dentistry, we pride ourselves on being one of the oldest family-owned dental offices in the Triangle. Dr. Bobbi Stanley opened the practice back in 1995 so we’ve been operating for twenty-five years. During those twenty-five years, Dr. Bobbi’s husband, Dr. Robert Stanley, decided to go to dental school as well and joined the practice as our surgeon and dental implantologist. Today, we also have Dr. David Baronowski along with two hygienists, a talented lineup of dental assistants, front desk staff, and a marketing team.
We’ve overcome everything from the 2008 recession to this year’s catastrophic COVID-19 shutdown and we always come back stronger than before. How do we do that? It’s all about our team and our patients. Everyone who works in our office, from the assistants to the doctors, is incredibly passionate about helping as many people as possible obtain healthy, beautiful smiles. We truly love helping people find their “smile confidence”. When you have that sort of pure passion, people tend to notice, which is how we’ve managed to create such an amazing patient base. Many of our patients have been with us since 1995 because they know the care we provide is unparalleled.
A lot of businesses use the saying “When you’re here, you’re family,” but at Stanley Dentistry, it’s more than just a saying. Our office is a solidified part of a Cary community. For us, this is home and the patients who come into our office every six months are our family. We’ve been lucky enough to be able to stay here and serve the Triangle for over two decades and we hope to continue to serve for as long as our team is able. Help our small business stick around by voting for Dr. Bobbi Stanley in the Maggy Awards! Just one vote goes a long way.
“Dentistry is essential health care because of its role in evaluating, diagnosing, preventing or treating oral diseases, which can affect systemic health.”
Norma has been to dentist after dentist, looking for the right team of people to help heal her smile. After finding Stanley, she now commutes over 4 hours to come visit her family here at Stanley.
“I’m Norma Aguilar. I’m from Lenoir, North Carolina and I’m about 45 minutes from Boone, North Carolina. I’m on the west side. It takes me about 4 hours to drive here, and you’re the only place from now on that I’m coming. [I drive over] four hours, because my other dentist has not given me the information or done what you guys have done for me. Since I first came, you made me feel like I was your sister or brother.
I’ve gotten more understanding about my mouth than when I had cellulitis of the bloodstream because of a dental problem. You know when you feel comfortable, and you feel safe, and you feel like the truth is being given to you. Other dentists I’ve been to…I’ve not been that fortunate. I’ve had a lot of problems medically with my mouth that have put me in the hospital or in the ICU. I haven’t had [any of those problems] here. You’re very cautious and you’re very protective. That confidence makes you feel like you’re really appreciated and that you really want to do the right thing for me. And you handle it personally. I’m not just another person coming in the door and saying, ‘Oh we’re gonna get this done, and we can do this and this and make this money…’ You’re not about that. That’s the difference.
I’ve been here since [I moved from] Florida. Over the years, I’ve been to about 5 different dentists. I haven’t had [this level of] information, even [after] asking, they didn’t tell me [everything about my treatment.] Here, they tell me what’s the problem and what the cost is, and the prevention as well. So, this is my home. If I have to drive for hours to come every six months, I’m [still] coming. I’m not going to another dentist.
It would be [the] number [dentist] on my list. and I would tell them it would be worth the money to travel if they had to travel. They’d be foolish not to because you take care of the people like they are your mother or brother or sister, your cousin, your uncle. You don’t take care of them like they are another patient coming in that you can make money [off of]. That’s not the question here. The question here is ‘how can we help you? What would make you happy? How do your teeth feel? What can we do to make you improve as a person?’ There’s a difference when you walk in and a dentist says, ‘You got this, this, and this,’ but someone comes in and says, ‘How can we help you with your mouth? We know that money’s an issue but the real issue is what can we do for your health?’ Now that was the first question I had never heard in my life, said to me here by Dr. Bobbi. So I know that this is the place.”

Peggy came to our office in need of a complete smile transformation. She was self-conscious and concerned about her ability to eat. Now that her treatment process has been completed, this is the first time she has seen her forever smile.
“I put [fixing my teeth] off and put it off for so many years. It was not only that — it was my health. I couldn’t eat properly so I was having digestive problems. I was blessed I didn’t have a really bad toothache during this time. I kept pushing it. My sister [would say] ‘Have you called the dentist yet? Have you gone to the dentist yet?’ And then my doctor — my medical doctor — [was also encouraging me to get it done].
It went very well. When I woke up, I had no trouble at all. My whole head would hurt sometimes from my teeth. I had a lot of phantom pain. Trying to eat was getting more and more ridiculous. I knew I had to have [some teeth pulled]. I was very blessed that I had some money my mother and father left me that I was able to do this process. I still would have had to go somewhere to have surgery for my mouth because my mouth was bad. It was very bad.
I never really had any pain — even right after the surgery. [The prosthesis was uncomfortable] but not pain[ful]. Of course, when I got to eat for the first time after two months of liquids and mashed potatoes…I remember the first time I got to bite into a pear. I took a bite out of it and I was like “I can eat!” It had probably been ten years [since I bit into a pear] because my teeth were so bad so I’d always have to cut stuff up. To just take a whole pear and bite it — to be able to chew meat and stuff like that. I was really having a hard time eating because my teeth were so bad.
One of the bank tellers at the Credit Union I always go to said ‘You know, you’re smiling now! You never used to smile.’ I said no, because I was really ashamed of my mouth. I remember I had a picture I sent to a friend of mine and I haven’t seen her in a few years and she said “Peggy, why don’t you get that tooth fixed?” And I said, ‘Nedra, you just hit on my biggest worry. And it’s not just one tooth — it’s the whole mouth.’ I would have to keep my mouth closed but now I can take pictures smiling.
Everything here. You have to trust somebody to do something like this. Knowing that you all had an anesthesiologist who was here. That made it easier because that’s who’s got your life for those few hours that you’re having the surgery.
I would say come in and look at the options. Really look at your health. Sure, it’s expensive when you first hear it but when you think about all that you’re getting. Just having [Dr. Rob] pull the teeth and get all the roots out…if you went to a regular oral surgeon, that would’ve cost three hundred or two hundred. So that alone, just getting all of that out, [was worth it]. If you’re suffering, don’t let it go on. Get something done about it and this is a great place to go.”

“How did I end up at Stanley Dentistry? Well, Dr. Rob and Dr. Bobbi — before Dr. Rob was a dentist — lived up the street from me and that’s how I came to be a patient here.
It’s been really nice. Being a patient here, I feel like part of a — this is so corny — but I feel like part of a family because everyone is so friendly and professional. I get really good, quality care. It never hurts — NEVER — and I can’t say I look forward to dental visits, but I look forward to seeing everyone here. They are just so…it’s great.
Well, the implant came after I had a tooth extracted. And, first of all, the extraction was really simple. I was amazed. Then we went ahead and did the implant and that took a little while, but I didn’t feel anything. I felt nothing and then the recovery from it was easy. Do you know what the hardest part was? When they put the crown on, it just pinched the gums. But, compared to everything involved in putting an implant in, it was easy — it was great! I don’t have any regrets.
I feel like I’m really taken care of when I come here. I started out with Dr. Bobbi, and then Dr. Rob went to dental school, and he jumped in! And he’s awesome. They are both so professional, so friendly, so engaging and they know what they are doing. They are up on everything. And I have seen the procedures grow as far as what’s available here at Stanley Dentistry. They used to refer me out for a root canal, but now it’s just a one-stop dental visit. It’s awesome. They take care of all my needs here. I always recommend this practice for dental care. I can’t think of anything, I can’t think of a better place to come!”
Interested in learning more about dental implants? If you’re on the fence about getting dental implants, read about our unique dental implant system Omega Teeth here. They’re long-lasting and require very little maintenance. The majority of patients who get dental implants never have to think about them again after they’re healed.
If you’re ready to get started on your dental implant treatment, you can set up a complimentary consultation with our implantologist, Dr. Robert Stanley. He’ll take a look at your teeth and let you know if you’d be a good dental implant candidate. Our team will then draw up a treatment plan for you, outlining costs and appointments. Most dental practices only offer the implant post. Patients then have to go from dentist to dentist searching for cosmetic dentistry. At Stanley Dentistry we do it all! We use state-of-the-art technology to completely restore your smile from start to finish in as little as one day.
“I’ve really enjoyed it. I’m really satisfied. If I would’ve known, I would’ve come before I went to another dentist to get my implants. I would’ve gotten everything done here. I didn’t know but I know now!
He [her husband] made a comment: ‘I can’t believe you went all the way to Cary to get your mouth done!’ You know what I told him? I said, if they do a good job, why not drive all the way out to Cary?
I would recommend it to anyone. I’ve been trying to get people to come!”
Our office specializes in dental implants so we have a ton of information about them. If you’d like to learn a little more about them before scheduling a consultation, here are a few helpful links:
The top part is the part you actually want. This is the part that is in the mouth. It is called a crown. It’s what you want — you want a replacement tooth.
If we take this part off and set it aside, you’ll note that there is an abutment. [That is] this part here in the middle. This part screws into the implant. If I unscrew this, it comes out and it has a little thread on it. And it’s customizable. So, we have different shapes and sizes in the office to allow us to customize this to your solution.
And then we have the actual dental implant, which is this part. This part, if properly placed, you never see. It’s like the foundation for your house. If you pour a foundation for your house, you never see the foundation once the house is built on top of it because it’s been properly done. So, properly placed, you never see this. All implants have three parts: the implant itself, the abutment that screws into it, and the crown that goes on top.”
Lots of dental offices offer dental implants but few put as much time and effort into perfecting implants as Stanley Dentistry does. We are truly committed to giving each and every one of our patients the best possible dental implant experience. This means educating them prior to the procedure, spending time after the office closes planning their case, and then completing a quick, successful surgery. The implants that we give our patients at Stanley Dentistry are built to last. You will be able to rest easy knowing you’ve made the right decision with your implant.
“I’m a big wuss. So, I need somebody that’s going to take care of my teeth on the painless dentistry side. I was looking for somebody who practices that. I heard about Dr. Stanley — the dentist to the stars. So, I came in and, once again, I never looked back. It’s an easy experience. I don’t mind coming to the dentist anymore.
Each and every time I’ve gotten more comfortable coming here. I’ve never been sedated — but I did get needles in the gums, which is fine. Both Stanleys, the docs, they’re great. I tell everybody — come on down.
They’re very professional at all times. Very friendly and easy-going. [They] explain to you everything that’s going on. They make sure that you’re comfortable with it. It’s just a great overall experience every time you come in the chair. Never an issue. They’re there for you the whole time — even afterward. Whatever work you have done — you can call them, they’ll call you. You’re going away, they’ll give you someone to talk to when you’re going away — if god forbid something should happen. They’re great people.
Absolutely. You gotta come down and see the Stanleys. Both of them. I got two screws [dental implants] in my mouth so I’ll say I got screwed by Drs. Stanley. Everything was good. It was awesome. That’s about it. I can’t say enough. Great job, guys!”

We’re here to help improve your health — not progress your anxiety.

“I had implants put in the front and a plate fixed for my lower dentures — and they feel great. They’re just so natural. I can wear them all day. I do take them out and clean them during the day when I need to.
It’s just been great. It’s really been great. I can eat now! I eat things now that I haven’t eaten in several years — probably ten years. Everything feels really natural. I couldn’t eat before. When I would start eating, my dentures would come out. Because I don’t have enough gum to hold them in so they would come out. I had to eat on my gums. I couldn’t eat things like nuts, salads — I couldn’t eat salads and I love salads.
They’ve been great to deal with. Everybody here has. It’s a friendly atmosphere. Everybody seems to work together real well.
All my work will be done here from now on.”

Hi, Dr. Robert Stanley, Smile Engineer. Today, I’d like to talk to you about sedation dentistry. So, there are a lot of different levels to sedation dentistry in terms of what we can offer people who are anxious or just need to be relaxed a little bit when they come into the dental office.
The first one we can do is pill sedation. We can give you something to relax you before you come and a couple of pills when you’re in the office. Now, I always like to warn people with this pill sedation, that it’s important to understand that this is like having a glass of wine or something. It just takes the edge off most of the time. If you think that you are going to need a little bit more than that, then that’s where IV sedation comes into play.
When we do IV sedation, we place an IV, usually in the arm somewhere or the hand, and the IV allows us to administer medication very rapidly. Now, the nice thing about this is that we can control the situation much more quickly and efficiently by using IV sedation. If we want to give you just a little bit more to make you a little bit more relaxed, we can do that. And we can stop it and as soon as we stop, the medicine wears off very, very quickly.
So, IV sedation is excellent for people that have not been to the dentist in a long time because of fear. We have a lot of those patients come in and they’ve had a bad experience when they were younger. They say: “Hey, I’m just really having a hard time just sitting across from you and talking to you.” Those kinds of people? Those are the most excellent patients for IV sedation because you come in, we wrap you in a warm blanket, you go off to la-la land, and when you wake up, your restorations are all done.
One of the nice things about doing IV sedation in an office like ours is that we have the ability to do a multitude of procedures all at the same time. So, say, for instance, you need a filling, and a crown, and a root canal, and an extraction — a variety of different things. You can get them all done in one short appointment. So, it’s a very efficient use of your time.
Sedation dentistry is the best and safest way to overcome dental anxiety. Set up a free consultation with Dr. Robert Stanley to learn more about which dental sedation option is right for you. Feel free to request an appointment here or call (919) 460-9665.
