Team Stanley competes in Wilmington Triathlon
On Saturday March 10-11, members of the Stanley Dentistry team and their families traveled to Wilmington NC to compete in the Azalea Sprint Triathlon. Team Stanley included Drs. Robert and Bobbi Stanley, Dental Assistants Gayle Banic, Zara Souvanlasy and Adrielle Ahokas, Nurse Anesthetist Zeb Thomeczek and administration team members Cherie Snowburg and Catherine Shireman.
Dr. Bobbi Stanley is currently training for the Louisville Ironman Triathlon in October. As part of her race preparation, she has entered several shorter, regional triathlons. “I thought it would be a great team building event and a quick, fun race for us to do together!”, said Dr. Bobbi. She continued, I believe in continuous growth both personally and professionally and I encourage my team to do the same.”
The event was hosted on the University of North Carolina at Wilmington (UNCW) campus. A Sprint triathlon consists of three segments – a 300-meter swim, 9-mile bike and 3 mile run. The swim took place at Seahawk Natatorium with biking and running segments winding through Wilmington and around the UNCW campus. All team members finished in less than two hours and enjoyed the experience! Many family members and Dental Assistant Patty Toombs and Operations Manager Rob Stanley Sr. were there to cheer on the athletes. After everyone completed the triathlon, participants, cheerleaders and family members gathered to refuel at a local Wilmington eatery.
This was the first triathlon for a few of the Stanley participants and the group is already researching their next race!View All News
