Dr. Minka Hotic knew she wanted to go into dentistry after volunteering at a dental clinic in Maputo, Mozambique. She saw firsthand the impact dentistry could have on relationships and families. By the end of her time there, she knew she wanted to be a dentist.
In December of 2006, Dr. Minka graduated from Winthrop University in South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. From there, she went on to gain her DDS at the University of North Carolina’s dental school. While in school, she was awarded the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship for her project on providing dental care to children in need. Post-grad, Dr. Minka still enjoys volunteering at dental clinics and tries to visit and help out at the local Wake Smiles and NC mom clinics as often as she can. Since starting at Stanley Dentistry, Dr. Minka has found she particularly enjoys working with children and completing cosmetic dentistry procedures.
Along the way, Dr. Minka met and married her boyfriend James. They have a young son and are expecting another child.
