Is KöR Whitening Expensive?
Like most things in life, when it comes to dentistry, people ask about the price of our services before they ask about anything else. Typically, giving prices in dentistry is difficult because no two cases are exactly the same. However, whitening is actually one of the few cosmetic services we offer that sort-of has a flat-fee (if you’re a good candidate and don’t need any other work done prior to the whitening) so we can typically give potential patients a ball-park estimate as to how much a whitening treatment would be. In our office, we offer three different types of teeth whitening: at-home, Zoom, and KöR. They all do a great job of eliminating stains and giving patients whiter smiles but they are far from equal. Not surprisingly, the best choice, KöR, is also the most expensive choice.
Why is KöR more expensive than other whitening options?
Kor is more expensive than Zoom for the same reason that porcelain veneers are more expensive than composite veneers: it’s better. On average, KöR is twice as effective as other whitening methods when it comes to removing deep, ingrained stains. KöR is perfect for people who either want real, dramatic results from a whitening procedure or for people who’ve tried other whitening procedures in the past with lackluster results. Other whitening options may be better for people with very light staining or for people who don’t have the money to invest in their smile at the moment.
At our office, we recommend that people who are getting veneers (prepped or no-prep) get KöR whitening first. We do this because veneers, no matter how well done, can create a slight line where the whiter veneer meets your natural tooth. If you don’t get whitening done beforehand, that line can become more obvious. When you invest in porcelain veneers, you want them to look perfect! KöR can help make perfection more attainable.
