Are you looking for a good pediatric dentist in the Cary or Raleigh area? The area is so inundated with dental offices that it can seem like an impossible mission to find a dentist who’s a good fit for both you and your kids. At Stanley Dentistry, we specialize in taking care of all your dental needs for every member of your family, no matter how young or old. We offer everything from general dentistry (cleanings, fillings, sealants, etc.) and orthodontics (HealthyStart, braces, Invisalign) to oral surgery (wisdom teeth removal, dental implants) and cosmetic dentistry (dental bonding, whitening).

Unlike most offices, we don’t refer out for the vast majority of procedures — we can do almost everything in-house. This means you and your children won’t have to juggle going to numerous different offices to get the dental work you need done. It also means our team can get to know your family both as patients and as people.

Why choose Stanley Dentistry?

Dr. Bobbi Stanley has twenty-five years of experience treating patients of all ages. She’s seen thousands of patients grow up, staying their sole dental provider throughout orthodontics and wisdom teeth. If there’s ever something Dr. Bobbi doesn’t feel comfortable doing, we have three other highly trained dentists in the office who can take on any ache or ailment you or your family may have.

Stanley Dentistry isn’t a pediatric dentist — it’s actually much more than that. Although Dr. Bobbi sees kids as young as one year old, she sees adult patients too. When you bring your kids to an office that’s solely pediatric, you’re introducing them to an office, a dentist, and a hygienist that they won’t get the opportunity to truly know. By the time they’re ten to twelve, you’ll have to move them to a different office with a whole different staff. When they need braces, you’ll have to find an orthodontist to bring them to. If they need their wisdom teeth removed, that’s another office added to the list. Going to the dentist isn’t a fun experience. Don’t make it any harder on your kids by constantly uprooting them right when they’re getting comfortable with an office.

Knowing the staff and the office can make a huge impact on how good or bad your dental visit is. At Stanley Dentistry, we want all of our patients (especially the little ones!) to feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible. We take the time to remember the names and lives of every single one of our patients since, to us, they’re like family.

Doing pediatrics right

The keys to making your child comfortable at the dentist are consistency and timing. We recommend that parents bring their children into the office when they’re one year old or when their first tooth comes in (usually, those two are simultaneous). During this first appointment, Dr. Bobbi will take a look at the child’s mouth to see if there are any abnormalities. They’ll also check to make sure your child’s baby teeth are healthy and clean. Once your child has a few teeth (around age three or four), they will clean their teeth as well.

Parents rarely think about or understand the importance of early pediatric appointments. We see tons of kids for the first time when they’re five or six because their parents didn’t think babies or toddlers needed to go to the dentist. We’d rather see them later than never but all parents should know that babies do indeed need to visit the dentist. Along with checking for problems, these early appointments help make kids more comfortable with going to and seeing the dentist. In the longterm, this will make for adults with a healthier, cleaner smile and less dental-related anxiety.
